Music Director, Afternoon Show Host for WHZT Hot 98-1 FM Greenville, S.C.
In July 2002, I sent in my resume and air check to Cox Radio Greenville (now Cox Media Group Greenville) searching for a chance to get my foot in the door. The next month that dream came true when I was given a part-time on-air position with 107-3 JAMZ. I have been with this great company for nine great years of my life! I went to a major university in the area, and while getting my master’s in Human Resources, I became a fan of the stations in the cluster. While in my masters’ program and doing my college radio show, I recognized the superb execution that Cox Radio used when playing music and involving themselves with community events. I knew I HAD to work there!
Now, that dream is a reality! I honestly enjoy the interaction that I have with my listeners. Cox Media Group provides the jocks with the research that indicates we are playing the hits our target listeners enjoy. I love to see comments on our Facebook page and when I am out in the community and hear how people enjoy our station. We give our listeners the hits they like with engaging and comical breaks. Well, at least I try to be funny. We also provide our listeners with the best music, the best entertainment and community service so there is no question that this station is THEIR station! #CMGROCKS!

Director of Digital, CMG Ohio
Dayton, Ohio
I joined CMG Ohio in August 2011. The expectations of this role represent one of the innovative ways Cox Media Group’s leaders are tackling industry challenges: by aligning content and revenue goals at the start, not the finish. Our Digital businesses are our future, and more than ever we must find creative ways to align our core products with revenue growth.
I think that CMG Ohio customers benefit from a converged media organization because we are better equipped to deliver in-depth news, targeted audience and maximum return on investment in any platform. We deliver integrated solutions. In this economy, we know that every dollar—and potential dollar—counts. So we offer centralized, customer-focused options to help you maximize your buys and reach your target audience.
I’ve been with Cox for 11 years after starting on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution copy desk as an intern. One of the things I value most is the opportunity for professional growth, and this expanded role is proof of the possibilities within our company if you’re willing to shed your comfort zone. I love that I have the ability to contribute to the company’s future while exploring new industries including advertising, TV and radio. A cornerstone of this role is collaboration across platforms, and the expertise and leadership that I’m exposed to is invaluable.

KTVU Meteorologist
Oakland, Calif.
I’m meteorologist and weather forecaster for KTVU’s Channel 2 weekend evening newscasts and have been with the station for three years. During the week, I work on our noon newscast and The Bay Area News at 7 on KICU Channel 36. When not on camera, I spend a ton of time working on our weather computer. I like to experiment with the computer to figure out new, interesting ways to explain weather patterns and produce sharp-looking graphics.
Growing up in the Bay Area, I have watched KTVU for most of my life. I have always been impressed with the proud history of the station and professional staff. It was an honor to be asked to join the team, and I love having the opportunity to be creative and work on new ideas both on and off the camera. It makes my job fun.
With all of the rapid changes taking place in the media, CMG Bay Area still has the simple task of serving the public. Our viewers can count on a reliable home base to get fresh, accurate, and timely information. The weather department is just one of many that contribute to the station’s success and its good standing in the community.

Palm Beach Post Real Estate Reporter
West Palm Beach, Fla.
Having been with The Palm Beach Post for 11 years, I am currently the paper’s real estate reporter. My first job out of college was at the now shuttered Boca Raton News. The Palm Beach Post was the newspaper we competed with, looked up to and learned from. After jobs at newspapers in Virginia, Arizona and Fort Myers, Fla., I wanted to return to Southeast Florida and I knew The Post was a quality newspaper that would let me grow as a journalist.
The best part of my job is when someone is helped with a problem or dilemma because of a story I’ve written. I know reporters and editors here work hard every day to make a product that enlightens and entertains readers, while also exposing wrongdoing in the world.

Valpak Process Engineer, Digital Operations Technology
Largo, Fla.
I have been working for Valpak since June 16, 2008. In this time, I have worked in the project management office (PMO), Sales Systems, and am currently in the Digital Operations Technology department.
I was at point in my life where my previous long-time job was not fulfilling my need for a challenge and advancement. A close friend of mine, who knew of my situation and had started working for Valpak six months earlier, reached out and urged me to look into applying for a position that had opened in the PMO department. I knew right away from the interview that Valpak was a place I wanted to be part of and grow with.
Valpak people and the work experience are the best part of my job. My colleagues are like family. It is a very welcoming and warm environment to be part of, and it gives you the sense of equality amongst fellow co-workers and management. I say the experience because during every project I have been involved with, every team member has had the same common goal which was to make Valpak succeed and grow. Valpak has offered many opportunities for me to learn and have new experiences, such as personal development with their training programs and new challenges with every project that I am involved with. I am very happy with my decision to become part of the Valpak team and I foresee a very fruitful and continued growth for myself within the company for many years to come.

Manager, Site Services CMG DST
Atlanta, Ga.
I have been a full-time employee with CMG’s Digital and Strategy team since January 2011. I began my career with Cox in 2007 as a contractor at COXnet and had the privilege of working with a great team, who was responsible for launching the newspapers onto a new content management system. During that time, I learned first-hand what a great company Cox is and how they make investing in their employees a priority. I’ve also witnessed the honor and respect Cox employees show towards the legacy of Governor Cox, the company’s founder.
In 2009 when CMG formed, I was impressed with the vision, integrity of leadership and the company’s desire to encourage creativity and innovation. Without question, I knew this was where I needed and wanted to be. Today, I work in Site Services, and our role is to act as the primary point of contact for our digital brands. We provide education and training, and we are responsible for internal customer communication.
My job is a lot of fun, and I have the opportunity to work with all of our media platforms.

Account Executive, Cox Reps
New York NY
I’ve worked with TeleRep, a division of Cox Reps, since 2008. I love the fact that there’s plenty of opportunity to grow with the company and how it supports its employees. One of the best aspects of my job is that I get to be out on the streets most the time and am not tied to my desk. This is an industry where relationships with one’s buyer are crucial, and TeleRep offers its clients 100 percent professional service.
I started my career as a buyer for three years before coming over to the rep side at TeleRep. I did not expect to enjoy working as a rep as much as I do, but our job provides challenges on a daily basis. Sometimes it feels like a big hurdle to overcome, but with great leadership and support, I’ve been able to meet expectations or surpass them in some ways. It’s a great feeling to know that I’ve met my clients’ needs and that they are happy. I appreciate the accomplishments I’ve made, and it keeps me wanting to achieve more. Working at TeleRep has also helped me grow in so many ways and is something I’m very proud of.
I may be biased, but I feel that any company would do business with TeleRep because it’s a professional company that places great emphasis on growth and outperforming our competition. We thrive on success.
