CMG Orlando Names Drew Bland as New Director of Branding and Programming for WWKA-FM

ORLANDO – June 3, 2014 Cox Media Group (CMG) Orlando has named Drew Bland, aka Bo Hunter, as its new Director of Branding and Programming for K92.3 Orlando’s Country WWKA-FM effective June 18.  In this role, Bland is responsible for coaching and developing on-air talent, as well as creating and executing a branding and programming strategy for CMG Orlando’s Country Radio Station.

Stevie DeMann, Operations Director for WPYO/WWKA said, “I am so excited for Drew to join us at CMG Orlando, representing Orlando’s Country, K92.3.  The time is right and the time is now for Drew to take the next step in his career and he will be a great leader to the K92.3 staff.  We look forward to his vision and leadership of our amazing brand!”

Prior to this new role, Bland was with CBS for 10 years in Phoenix, Ariz., KMLE for seven years as Assistant Program Director and held positions as Evening Host, Morning Show Producer and most recently Mid-day Host. For the last five years he’s been the Music Director and played the role as interim Program Director on two different occasions.

Bland, a graduate from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication added, “I am beyond excited to join the Cox Media Group Orlando team.  I’d like to thank Susan Larkin and Stevie DeMann for this opportunity to lead the K92.3 brand. Plus, unlike Phoenix, I hear it’s not such a ’dry heat‘ in Florida.”
