CMG Tampa Radio Stations Partner with Metropolitan Ministries to Host a Virtual Food Drive

TAMPA — April 13, 2020 — Cox Media Group (CMG) Tampa Radio stations WWRM (Magic 94-9), WPOI (Hot 101.5), WHPT (102.5 The Bone) , WDUV (105.5 The Dove) and WXGL (107.3 The Eagle) have joined forces with Metropolitan Ministries to host Feed It Forward: A Virtual Food Drive. On Thursday, April 16, from 6 am to12 midnight, the radio stations will invite listeners to either log onto one of the stations’ websites, or to one of the stations’ apps and click on the Donate Here button. The button will link donors directly to the Metropolitan Ministries donation page, where they can choose to either donate a specific dollar amount, or shop for specific needed food items in the ‘virtual pantry’.

“Cox Media Group Tampa has always been devoted to helping our community, whether it’s supporting a blood drive or providing hurricane relief,” said Vice President and Market Manager at CMG Tampa Keith Lawless. “Our community’s need has never been more critical than right now. We are so proud to partner with Metropolitan Ministries on this virtual food drive, so that our listeners can stay home and stay safe, but still help our neighbors in need.”

Metropolitan Ministries has seen an unprecedented need in the Tampa Bay community due to the rise of unemployment caused by COVID-19. On their website, www.metromin.org, donors can see all of the ways they can help within their community through Metropolitan Ministries and give back during this difficult time.
