ATLANTA – July 20, 2012 – Cox Media Group (CMG) Atlanta has named media industry veteran Ben Reed as its new VP and Market Manager effectively immediately. In this new role, Reed succeeds Dan Kearney, who is now VP and Market Manager of CMG Miami, and will be responsible for all radio operations for CMG’s strong Atlanta brands, News/Talk WSB 95.5 FM and 750 AM, B 98.5 FM, KISS 104.1 FM and WSRV 97.1 FM.

Prior to this role, Reed was group vice president of CMG’s media operations in Atlanta, Birmingham, Houston, San Antonio and Tulsa radio markets, as well as the Austin American Statesman newspaper.
Reed started his radio career in 1982 with KATZ Broadcasting in Birmingham, which became NewCity Communications and then Cox Radio. He has held various positions from account manager, local sales manager, general sales manager, market manager, regional vice president and group vice president.
Reed is a graduate of the University of Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
