Cox Media Group Atlanta Radio Stations Collect 13,121 Pounds of Food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank

ATLANTA, GA – Kicking off in mid-November and culminating on December 4, Cox Media Group Atlanta’s radio stations partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to collect food needed to supply holiday meals for local families in need.

KISS 104.1 (WALR), 95.5 WSB (WSBB-FM/WSB-AM), B98.5 (WSB-FM) and 97.1 The River (WSRV) collected a grand total of 13,121 pounds of food, as well as raised monetary donations to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank throughout the holiday season.

“Helping the communities we serve is one of the things that radio does best,” said Chris Eagan, senior director of operations. “We are proud to partner with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and do tremendous work for needy families in the Atlanta area.”

“Thanks to the enormous generosity of Cox Media Group’s listeners, Georgia families struggling with food insecurity will have access to even more nutritious meals this holiday season,” said Heather Schlesinger, chief marketing officer of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. “All of the food donated at each of these four events will be distributed throughout the Food Bank’s 29-county service area. This donation will go a long way for the people in our community!”

A big thanks to our partners at Kroger and Publix for helping us surpass our goal and provide meals for thousands of families this season.

About the Atlanta Community Food Bank
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works to end hunger with the food, people and big ideas needed to ensure our neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Far too many people in our own community experience hunger every day, including children, seniors and working families. Through more than 600 nonprofit partners, we help more than 755,000 people get healthy food every year. Our goal is that all hungry people across metro Atlanta and North Georgia will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them. It takes the power of our whole community to make that possible. Join us at ACFB.org.
