Cox Media Group Connecticut Launches New Website

MILFORD, CT – Sept. 24, 2012 – Cox Media Group (CMG) Connecticut has launched a new website at, the first website created by a radio group as a standalone entity focused with a local take on pop culture, news, sports, music and area happenings.

The site is directed by Operations Manager Keith Dakin and maintained and updated by an in-house web curator/APD, Kevin Begley, as well as outside freelance writers and many of the station personalities and support staff.

“I’m extremely thrilled to get deeper into the digital space by developing one of the most unique sites currently available in Connecticut,” said Dakin. “This is an amazing opportunity for our staff to branch out and create exciting and compelling content on a different platform.  I also find some of the posts very funny.”

The site will have a daily feature story, as well as constant articles, blogs, photos, homegrown podcasts, live streaming, videos and more. From a business perspective, the unique spin is that this site is completely separate from CMG Connecticut’s radio stations, and the only connection is the cross-promotion opportunities the site affords.

“Our goal is to develop innovative ideas which will allow us to continue to grow our business, but most importantly ensure a long sustainable future for our cluster,” added CMG Connecticut VP and General Manager Kristin Okesson.  “We are fortunate to have incredible talent and are excited to utilize them as we re-create what it means to be a radio station in 2012.”
