LOUISVILLE – Feb. 29, 2012 – Kris Daniels, morning talent on Cox Media Group (CMG) Louisville’s WQNU and music director for both WQNU and Dayton’s WHKO, was named “Medium Market Music Director of the Year” on Feb. 24 at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. This was the first nomination for Daniels and the first CRS Country Aircheck award for WQNU and WHKO.
Daniels, daughter of 2007 Country Radio Hall of Fame Inductee Larry Daniels, joined CMG Louisville in 2008. Previously, Daniels worked at as Assistant Program Director and Music Director for KHGE-Fresno. She started as Music Director at KUZZ in Bakersfield, Calif.
“This is a huge honor and more proof that Cox is a real country contender,” said Daniels. She was joined on stage to accept the award by her dad, who is retiring from country radio after more than 50 years in the business.
