Cox Media Group Names Scott Smith as New Radio Technology Director


ATLANTA – Dec. 12, 2012 Cox Media Group’s (CMG) VP and General Manager, Scott Smith, is now the company’s new Radio Technology Director for CMG’s radio operations. In this new role, Smith will oversee CMG radio’s signal improvements, regulatory changes as they affect radio, and CMG’s radio portfolio opportunities. 

“Cox Media Group is very fortunate to be able to tap internal talent like Scott,” said Kim Guthrie, CMG Senior VP of Radio.  “He is a great asset to our company and the perfect candidate to take on this additional responsibility for our company.  His knowledge and skills in this area will serve him well in this new role.”

Smith will continue in his leadership role over CMG Athens and will continue reporting to CMG Atlanta’s VP and Market Manager Ben Reed.    

“Scott has tremendous talent in the radio technical space, and his expertise will be critical as we look at opportunities to improve our technical facilities,” said Reed. “Working within the CMG Atlanta area radio group provides Scott with unique resources to enhance the CMG radio portfolio.”
