DAYTON – Feb. 28, 2012 – As it continues maximizing the expertise of its industry-leading media professionals across its portfolio of radio, television, publishing and digital businesses, Cox Media Group Ohio (CMG Ohio) has named Rob Rohr as its general manager.
In his prior position as senior vice president of sales, Rohr was responsible for sales for CMG Ohio’s publishing, television, radio and digital products and solutions. In his new position, Rohr will not only be responsible for accelerating multi-platform media sales opportunities, but will also assume responsibility for managing the finance and business operations for all CMG Ohio properties. Rohr will continue to position CMG Ohio and its customers for future growth while maximizing operating efficiencies that support the company’s customer facing efforts. CMG Ohio locations include Dayton, Springfield, a number of northern Cincinnati communities, plus its Print Technology Center located in Franklin, Ohio.
Rohr assumes the operational responsibilities previously held by Brian Cooper, who served as senior vice president of CMG Ohio operations, and who is transferring from Dayton to the Cox Media Group-owned Atlanta Journal Constitution, where he will serve as their senior vice president of finance and business operations.
“I’m delighted to be able to appoint Rob to this role,” said Julia Wallace, market vice president for Cox Media Group Ohio. “It speaks to the great leadership depth we have within this organization. He has molded a highly successful sales team that understands our various markets. His smart strategic thinking will be an asset now to even more of the organization.”
A graduate of Miami University, Rohr’s first position was as an advertising salesperson for the Dayton Daily News in 1993. For 19 years Rob has held a variety of sales and leadership positions in CMG Ohio’s revenue areas. He has managed a high-functioning sales organization with consistently increasing results.
“At CMG Ohio we are privileged to have talented and experienced leaders across all of our functional areas who have worked together as a team to serve our customers. We continue to raise the bar for other media companies in our market and within the industry,” said Rohr. “I am extremely pleased to have this opportunity to continue to support our important work here in Ohio.”
Rob resides in Springboro with his wife, Cathy, and two sons, Collin and Ethan.
