ORLANDO – July 9, 2012 – Cox Media Group (CMG) Orlando Vice President & General Manager, Debbie Morel will retire from the company later this summer after 28 years of service.

Debbie’s leadership, creativity, enthusiasm and seemingly endless energy have been the genesis for many of our most successful and loved brands and initiatives.”
During her time with CMG Orlando, Morel spearheaded many key initiatives including the creation of Cox Events Group, WMMO’s Downtown Concert Series, and WCFB’s “Star Cares” community program. Larkin added that Morel’s leadership and influence have had tremendous impact on CMG Orlando’s business, employees and the Orlando community.
Morel’s career in radio broadcasting has spanned over 32 years. She currently serves as Vice President and General Manager for three of Orlando’s heritage radio stations, K92.3 FM, Star 94.5 FM and Power 95.3 FM. Morel also oversees the operations of the successful Cox Events Group, known as CEG. She was appointed to the position of Vice President and General Manager in August 1996.
For seven years prior to her appointment with Cox Radio Orlando, Morel served as Director of Sales for Cox Radio Chicago. She started her career with Cox Radio as a Senior Account Manager in 1984. Prior to joining Cox Radio, Morel worked for NBC Radio as an Account Manager in Chicago.
Morel is a member of American Women in Radio and Television, served on the Board for the American Cancer Society, and has mentored several Cox Employees over the years.
