Houston’s Johnny Chiang Voted No. 3 Country Radio Program Director

— Friday, February 24, 2017 — Johnny Chiang, Operations Manager for Cox Media Group (CMG) Houston, was voted the No. 3 in The Best Program Directors in Country Radio by Radio Ink magazine. He received this prestigious award on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Tenn.

“It’s very humbling to be in this select group of amazing Country programmers,” said Chiang. “I feel really blessed to do what I love every single day.”

Chiang’s 27-year radio career began at KFI-AM and KOST-FM in Los Angeles, Calif., then on to Houston where he programmed KHPT-FM for three years before he took the reins at KKBQ-FM. In the 12 years as Program Director at The New 93Q, Chiang has been passionately involved with Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc., Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association and The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
