Houston’s Country Music Station: The New 93Q wins CMA Major Market Station of the Year 2014

HOUSTON – Oct. 15, 2014 – Cox Media Group Houston’s, KKBQ-FM/The New 93Q, received a phone call from country music artist, Luke Bryan, to award the station the Major Market Station of the Year for the 2014 Country Music Association Awards. This is the first time The New 93Q has received a CMA Award. The 48th Annual CMA Awards Show will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live on ABC-TV from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. 

“2014, record revenue, record ratings, the Marconi for Major Market Station, and now the CMA award….this honor caps off the best year in KKBQ’s history,” said CMG Houston VP and Market Manager Mark Krieschen.  “I’m very proud of our accomplishments and the entire team!”

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the more than 6,300 industry professional members of CMA.  Members of the Country Music Association are music executives, artists, publicists, songwriters, musicians, touring professionals and more from all around the world.
