SEATTLE – July 24, 2014 – KIRO 7 Eyewitness News announced the promotion of Jake Milstein to News Director for the station, effective immediately.
“Jake has been a leader in growing our newscasts, digital platforms and our news brand over the past six years as KIRO’s Managing Editor. I’m very pleased that we were able to tap KIRO-TV’s internal talent for this critical position,” said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News VP and General Manager, Jay O’Connor. “Under Jake’s leadership, we will continue to deliver exceptional daily newscasts to our viewers and position KIRO 7 Eyewitness News as the No. 1 digital content distributor for Seattle.”

Milstein’s news career began as a producer at KNTV in San Jose, CA in 2000. In 2006, he joined KCOY/KKFX in Santa Maria, CA as the Assistant News Director and then moved to WRC in Washington DC as a senior producer. Milstein joined KIRO 7 Eyewitness News in 2008 as managing editor, and in 2012, was also named digital manager, overseeing all KIRO 7 Eyewitness News digital assets and social media.
Milstein is a graduate of University of Southern California.
