JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – March 21, 2011 – James Platzer is Cox Media Group’s (CMG) new News Director for WJAC-TV in Johnstown, Pa. and will officially begin April 4.
Platzer’s distinguished career in media actually began at WJAC-TV in 1990 as a part-time photographer. Originally from Lewistown, Pa., he is currently a Journalism instructor at Penn State University. Prior to joining the teaching staff at Penn State, he was the News Director at WFMY-TV in Greensboro, NC and the News Director at WAND-TV in Decatur, IL.
“James brings an abundant amount of knowledge and experience to WJAC-TV,” said Kevin Hayes, CMG Johnstown General Manager and Vice President. “He has a nose for news, is a great leader, and I am thrilled that he has joined our team.”
