KRMG to Collect Donations for Woodward, Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Tulsa, Okla.  – April 16, 2012 – News Talk KRMG will be collecting approved items to benefit tornado victims in Woodward, Oklahoma on Tuesday evening, April 17th starting at 5pm in the lobby of Tulsa’s Mabee Center before “A Life Changing Evening with Andy Andrews” (http://j.mp/J10RKe). Donations will be accepted until 9pm. 

A representative of The Salvation Army will be on hand to accept financial contributions in the form of cash or checks made payable to Salvation Army of Woodward.  All items and monies obtained by KRMG at the event tomorrow evening will be sent to Woodward on Wednesday.

The Office of Emergency Management reiterates there is NO NEED for clothing donations or for volunteers to self-deploy to Woodward.  However, they are accepting the following items:

  • Leather gloves
  • Small folding military style cots
  • Flashlights
  • AA and AAA batteries
  • PLEASE DO NOT:  send clothing or self-deploy to volunteer

“A Life Changing Evening With Andy Andrews” is a FREE event to the public.  Unlike other free Tulsa events, there will be no pitch for attendees to purchase anything.  Those who wish to attend the event are not required to bring a donation.  The event is open to the public, and attendees do not need a ticket to get in.  However, reserving a ticket in advance guarantees a seat (http://mabeecenter.com/events.php?id=aandrews2012).  VIP and Gold Circle Seats are also available.
