Mike Joseph is Executive Vice President of Cox Media Group (CMG) at the company’s Atlanta headquarters. In this role, Mike is responsible for The Austin American-Statesman and Palm Beach Newspapers, Newspaper Shared Services, CMG’s Healthcare Strategy venture, CMG Technology, and CMG’s Digital Revenue Operations. Mike also is responsible for driving over-arching industry issues for Newspapers.
Previously, Mike was Executive VP responsible for developing a long-range strategy for all of CMG’s 18 trusted newspaper brands, including the four major daily metros The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), Austin American-Statesman, Dayton Daily News and Palm Beach Newspapers. Mike also oversaw all CMG Ohio media platforms.
Before joining CMG’s executive leadership team in 2012, Mike was Publisher of the AJC. He also has served as President and General Manager of the AJC, overseeing advertising, marketing, circulation, production, information technology, and human resources. Mike was President and Chief Executive Officer of Cox Ohio Publishing, and Publisher of the Dayton Daily News.
He began his career with Cox in 1995 and was responsible for Cox Ohio business operations, including advertising sales, distribution, manufacturing, finance, information systems and human resources. Joseph also oversaw the planning, design and operations of Cox Ohio’s Print Technology Center.
Currently, Mike sits on the boards of the News Media Alliance, and Skyword, a company designed to help brands connect digitally with consumers.
