OAKLAND – April 1, 2013 – It was announced today that Lee Rosenthal has been named News Director at KTVU-TV. Rosenthal’s first day will be April 22nd.
Rosenthal comes to KTVU from WXIN (FOX) in Indianapolis where he held the position of News Director the last four years. While there he was honored with a number of industry accolades, including: two Associate Press (AP) Awards, one Regional Emmy Award and an Indiana Broadcasters Association Award for Best Community Involvement. Rosenthal was also named to the Top 40 under 40 by the Indianapolis Business Journal.

During his tenure at WXIN the station increased its local News product from 28 hours each week to 60. He helped lead the station to rating gains in numerous Newscasts, highlighted by WXIN’s Morning Newscast rising from #4 to #1 in Adults 25-54 – the highest ratings in the stations history. Rosenthal also helped lead the News operation through numerous tornado and blizzard Weather events and the deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse.
Before working at WXIN, Rosenthal was an Executive Producer at WBNS (CBS) in Columbus, Ohio for three years. While there he was honored with two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. Prior to his stint in Columbus he was a News Producer at WFTS (ABC) in Tampa, Florida. He’s also worked at WVLT (CBS) in Knoxville, TN as an Executive Producer/Anchor & Reporter and he got his start at WBNG (CBS) in Binghamton, NY as a Producer/Anchor & Reporter.
