MIAMI – Aug. 19, 2013 – Cox Media Group (CMG) Miami’s 97.3 The Coast has named weekender Mike Kruz as the afternoon drive host, effective immediately. In addition to this new role, Kruz will also be the imaging director, producing station imaging and promotions.
“Mike Kruz stepped up his game!,” said CMG Miami Program Director Tom Calococci. “It’s always great when you have someone who really steps up and earns a spot on the team, and Mike did just that. He sounds great on the air, is hard-working and has shown himself to be a very valuable team member. The evolution of The New 97.3 The Coast continues, and South Florida just got a little hotter!”
Kruz fell in love with radio at the storied WJPZ while studying broadcast journalism at Syracuse University. Later he landed his first full-time radio position in his hometown of Binghamton, NY at WMRV and WWYL there. Other career highlights include positions at WVTK in Burlington, VT; WKRZ in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Penn.; WIHB in Charleston, SC; and WLYF in Miami.
“I am super excited to leap into my new position at 97.3 The Coast,” added Kruz. “It’s all about fueling the listener’s excitement for the new 97.3, not only day-to-day on the air, but in its overall presentation through imaging.
