ORLANDO – Jan. 8, 2019 – WFTV, a Cox Media Group station, announced today that Channel 9 Eyewitness News will broadcast live from the 26th annual Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 9 a.m. The Channel 9 team – including anchors Nancy Alvarez, Racquel Asa, Jamie Holmes, and Meteorologist Brian Shields – will host the four-hour live event from the finish line at Epcot.

The 26.2-mile course takes runners through all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Viewers will see all the excitement from multiple camera locations as runners make their way through the most magical course on earth.
New this year, WFTV gives viewers a unique look at race leaders from a state-of-the-art motorcycle camera. Coverage also includes an interview with the designer of this year’s coveted marathon medal and a look back at how Walt Disney World parks have transformed over the years.
